THE MONIAC MODEL

Trying to predict migration within the UK South East due to the rise of the water levels.

The M.O.N.I.A.C - Monetary National Income Analogue Computer was a model created by William Phillips to analyse the national economic processes of the United Kingdom. The MONIAC was an analogue computer which used Fluid logic to model the workings of an economy.

I attempted to recreate the paradyme by making a 50 x 50 x 50 model of the Kent coast which would represent the areas of Kent that would Flood at certain water levels.

In addition the population fIgures could be operated separately in order to show migration and devastation where applicable.

The clear result was that Maidstone would be the town that would experience an exponential population growth.
